Vote for Wellies-On in the Aviva Community Awards

Flat Pack Farm

We are so excited that we are part of the Aviva Community Awards.

The Aviva Community Fund will finance over 500 projects across four different fund levels and four categories, giving awards to communities throughout the UK.

We have entered the Health and Wellbeing category so we can extend our work via our flat pack farm initiative.

“We take it for granted that we can go outside when we want to, enjoying fresh air, sunlight, plants and trees – and it generally makes us feel much better, relieving stresses of everyday living. Yet people in hospital, people in care homes and especially those with dementia are all too often not able to do this.” – Dementia Services Development Centre

Flat-pack farm means that the farm can go to residents in their own home, temporary housing, hospital or hospice setting. Our expert staff bring along different farmyard animals and running nature based activities.

Reaching more people

It is not always possible for people to access the farm, through the flat pack farm we are hoping to reach out to more people who are in great need of intervention and often experience isolation and subsequent anxieties and mental health conditions.

Our animals have been purposefully trained to take part in activities and have been exposed to many situations making them ideal assistants in our work.  Interactions with animals have been shown to improve health and well-being, especially in terms of mood and socialisation.

To be in with a chance of winning and being awarded such much needed cash we need your vote.

Voting is very easy

Click on the button below and follow the instructions to register and allocate your votes. You get 10 votes and can either share them across multiple projects or give them all to one; we know what we’d prefer.
