Text Box: Some of our past and present clients include referrals from Social Care Social Workers, Autism Anglia, Integrated Student Support, MENCAP, Connexions, SENCAN as well as many other local mainstream and special schools and colleges including Doucecroft School and FE, Lexden Springs, Stanway School, Freshstart School, Chelmsford College and St. Benedict's.
Text Box: Farm helpers who are statemented and have a social worker have access to funding with a personalised budget or similar funding program through the improving choices system. These farm helpers don’t necessarily need a referral as they can bring the idea of taking part in Care Farming to a meeting with their social worker, a review or statement meeting. It is helpful, however, to contact Butterfly Lodge first so a suitable program or course can be selected in order to make any funding easier to obtain.
Text Box: Farm helpers can also come to us through their school, college or other educational provision as an alternative curriculum. This has to be agreed by the school and funding must be found.

Connexions advisors are also able to give referrals and place funding bids for any potential farm helper and currently there are several farm helpers who also come to us through connexions.

A small minority of farm helpers self fund and pay their own way through the course.

Please bare in mind when securing funding that if a farm helper usually requires a support worker or learning support assistant then support through the relevant support agency must be found. Butterfly Lodge Education Centre does not provide support assistants, relevant support must be found elsewhere.
