Managing Director

Ellie is the managing director of Wellies-On Care Farm and Butterfly Lodge Education. She is also the owner of the farm. Ellie grew up on her parents goat farm in Cambridge, her family have been farming for several generations. Ellie is a fully qualified teacher and has taught in a variety of schools and colleges. Ellie is passionate about ‘Care Farming’ and plays a key role in the work of ‘Care Farming UK’ Ellie is also a qualified EAGALA (ES) practitioner and is therefore able to deliver Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and learning on site.ample Description

Emma Lowery

Centre Manager/ Senior Tutor

Emma is the Centre Manager for Wellies-On Care Farm. She is responsible for the day to day running of the service. She has worked at Wellies-On for 8 years. Prior to coming to the farm she held various management positions within the care sector and is also a qualified teacher.

Laura Poole

Tutor/ Group Facilitator

Laura is one of our tutors / group facilitators. Laura has a wealth of experience in teaching; prior to coming to the farm she taught art within a local secondary school. She also has a great deal of experience with animals as she spent time working at a visitor attraction that had livestock.

Clare Marshall

Clare Marshall

Group Facilitator

Clare has worked at Wellies-On for many years. She is a qualified reflexologist. Clare often leads groups in guided meditation. She has experience of working in many different settings including in schools as a learning support.

Mick Gardner

Mick Gardner

Maintenance Person / Support Worker

Mick has been part of the wider farm team for many years. He is the farms ‘Maintenance Man’ and deals with anything from carpentry to plumbing. He is a qualified electrician and experienced carpenter. He also has experience of working as direct support within the care sector.

Warren Goff

Operations Manager

Warren has many years experience within farming and is responsible for overseeing the site as a whole. He is also the chap that makes the delicious ice cream!

Katie Ballantyne

Katie Ballantyne

Farm Manager / Group Facilitator / Volunteer Co-ordinator

Katie is the Farm Manager; she is responsible for the day to day care and management of the livestock and land. Katie has a great deal of experience with livestock predominantly horses and goats, she is a keen horse rider and has taught horse riding in a previous job. Katie has a degree in Education. Katie is also an EAGALA (ES) practitioner.

Farm Apprentice

Holly began with us as a volunteer she spent time working alongside the groups as well as supporting around the farm wherever necessary. Holly is now undertaking an apprenticeship with us.

Leonie O’Loughlin

Mental Health Practitioner (Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and learning)

Leonie is part of our wider team, she is a qualified mental health nurse who also has a passion for horses. She supports the EAP sessions

Peter Pyke

Mental Health Practitioner (Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and learning)

Peter is part of our wider team. He helps deliver EAP sessions. He is a qualified mental health nurse with many years experience. He also has qualifications in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Pixie is centre manager Emma's dog and often accompanies her to the farm. Pixie is very friendly
